Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m sitting on the balcony of a hotel, looking out over the Gulf of Thailand on this Thanksgiving Day! If turkey, American football, and relatives at the table are what make Thanksgiving Thanksgiving, then I’ve made a terrible mistake somewhere along the way.

But if God‘s provisions, fellowship, and spiritual brothers and sisters are what make Thanksgiving Thanksgiving, then I’m right where I’m supposed to be.

Wherever we find ourselves today, even if some of us aren’t sure we took the right turn along the way, we can take time today to look up at our Almighty God, who has mercy on all, our Provider, our kind and loving Creator and Savior. The goodness of our God is everywhere.

This Thanksgiving day, we can lay all the bad at the foot of the Cross of Christ (where He defeated sin forever) and lift our hands to praise Him who is King forever.

Today we miss our family, but we are overwhelmed by the the blessings of the Master.
