A Prayer for Theo

Today we held our grandson for the first time and words cannot describe the thrill!

A Prayer for Theo, from Psalm 121 (ESV)

I lift up my eyes to the hills.

As Theo arrives and grows, may his eyes

Where does my help come from?

always look to You for help.

My help comes from the LORD,

May his heart fully believe You are

Who made heaven and earth.

his Creator and his loving LORD.

He will not let your foot be moved;

As he learns to walk, may he rest in

behold He who keeps Israel

the peace of knowing You watch over

will neither slumber nor sleep.

him because You never sleep.

The LORD is your keeper;

May he let You keep him in all ways.

the LORD is your shade

May he run into and stay in Your shade,

on your right hand.

close to You in the guidance of his parents and

The sun shall not strike you by day, nor

later by his own choice, so that he

the moon by night.

has nothing to fear at any time.

The LORD will keep you from all evil;

O LORD, keep Theo from all evil and keep

He will keep your life.

him from the beginning of life and onward.

The LORD will keep your going out

From his arrival on May 31 and in all

and your coming in from

his coming and going in life

this time forth and forevermore.

and then forever in heaven.

Guard this precious boy You have created.

We, his family, look to You to be his Ultimate Shepherd.

And we thank You for allowing us to be

His earthly family.

We love him!
